Get in the Flow Slice – February Recipe

Flow Slice

So while writing about all things bile for my February blog, I decided there should be more we can do and because you all love my recipes so much, I decided that I needed to spend some time in my test kitchen here at Poo Queen headquarters (of course this is just my normal kitchen – but it sounds so official and exciting doesn’t it?)

Plus, I wore my crown while I food prepped, just for a touch of Poo Queen sparkle!!

So, in my usual style I went to the pantry and fridge and just grabbed the ingredients I wanted to build around, with the goal, to support all things flow…….

The ingredients I chose were

  1. A lemon
  2. Turmeric and
  3. Ginger

What happened next was pure alchemy:

Flow slice ( also powerfully anti-inflammatory and yummy!!)

The Bottom layer:

½ cup ground almonds

½ cup LSA (Linseeds, Sunflower seeds and Almond blend)

2 tablespoons of coconut oil

2 tablespoons of tahini (unhulled is best)

1 tablespoon on maple syrup (or use equivalent of Stevia but no inulin if you are on a protocol)

1 teaspoon ground turmeric

½ teaspoon dry ginger

Top layer:

1 tablespoon coconut oil

4 tablespoons of nut butter (I used almond)

1 tablespoon of sweetener (I used maple syrup, but stevia or rice malt syrup would work)

1 cm grated fresh ginger

Juice from ½ a lemon

Sprinkles of shredded coconut

To make the base firstly line a loaf pan approx. 20cm x 10cm with cooking paper

Next melt the coconut oil and mix all the ingredients together – really mushing it all well

Press into the prepared loaf pan and place in freezer to firm.

Finely grate the ginger

In a small saucepan place the coconut oil, almond butter, lemon juice and ginger and mix well let it simmer just for a minute

Take it off the heat and add sweetener and continue mixing – it will get a bit firmer and kind of make a ball

Squish the topping evenly on the base

Sprinkle with coconut over the top or use chopped almonds if you prefer

Place in fridge until set- (be patient)

Remove and cut into cubes for noshing

Enjoy the flow.
