Satisfaction Slice
I developed this Satisfaction Slice as a way to trick the taste buds into thinking they were getting a sweet treat, while really we are just loading up on brain food.
Ok, so just a heads up – these are not sweet! They seem to be sweet and the look, texture and smell all say.. yummy this is sweet… but in actual fact there is very little sweetness – instead there is a heap of nutrition…… brain food and good old satisfaction
Ingredients:
½ cup coconut oil melted
100gms cacao butter melted
½ cup LSA
½ cup almond meal
1 /4 cup pepitas crushed/ blitzed
¼ cup walnuts crushed/ blitzed
¼ cup of nut butter such as ABC nut spread
¼ cup chia seeds
1 vanilla pod
1 tab cacao powder
2 tablespoons naked ginger pieces finely chopped
Sometimes I throw in some whole nuts
Process:
Melt the oil and cacao butter in a small saucepan
Get all the dry ingredients together
Mix in nut butter and melted mix
Press into a lined casserole dish or loaf pan
You can sprinkle the top with sesame seeds or crushed pepitas or coconut flakes
Once it sets in the fridge – remove from the dish/tin and slice up with a sharp knife.
I portion mine up and wrap in grease proof paper or else they disappear!! Then they are ready to go.
